Pediatric Covid-19 vaccine RWANDA

Challenge

How might we convince all parents to ensure their kids are vaccinated for Covid-19, either by consenting to their vaccination or taking them a vaccination site?

Outcome

A comprehensive Social and Behavior Change (SBC) campaign to increase uptake of the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine among children aged 5-11 years in Rwanda

Client:
JHU Breakthrough Action
Location:
Rwanda

The approach

The paediatric COVID-19 vaccine campaign brief was formulated by building upon the ideas generated during the collaborative workshop held in Rwanda in November/December 2022.  The purpose of the workshop was to get input from key stakeholders, namely RBC, parents, teachers, nurses and religious leaders, and develop an original campaign idea through a human-centered, collaborative process.

The workshop generated three campaign concepts. These concepts were then pretested to evaluate which resonated most widely with our audience. This concept was then developed into a full campaign consisting of radio, flyers, and videos. The campaign materials were pretested for improvement and refinement.
