Challenge

How might we nudge South Sudanese men and women to make better health choices by promoting a more gender equal vision for South Sudanese households and communities?

Outcome

Develop an overarching SBC brand concept addressing trust, gender equity, power dynamics, and healthy behaviors. Develop culturally sensitive messaging for inclusivity and empowerment

Client:
JHU Breakthrough Action
Location:
South Sudan

The approach

The overarching brand should reflect the importance and meaning of providing a level playing field - the idea of “justice and fairness” especially in regard to gender equity and power relations between men and women, health providers and clients, and community leaders and members. The concept will be used as the launchpad for addressing health topics such as safe motherhood, birth spacing, antenatal care, delivery at a health facility, and menstrual hygiene.

The brand should be unifying and flexible – a “big tent” brand – that encourages trust and inspires equitable access and engagement with health services.
