Challenge
How might we inspire and equip Tanzanian girls to navigate the pivotal adolescent period, so they are enabled to make choices about their lives, as well increase the uptake of the HPV Vaccine?
Outcome
A wholly original adolescent platform called Tujibebe. It's a multimedia experience anchored by an audio drama about adolescent girls navigating their teenage years in Tanzania
Overview
Tujibebe is a brand born out of Tanzanian culture, that unites young people through shared experiences, equipping them with the right skills and confidence to navigate adolescence.
By role-modelling inspiring fictional and real-life success stories, Tujibebe content provides young people with the information and resources they need to make positive choices about their future - from finishing their education or setting up their own small business, to accessing a health service.
The approach
Coming together as a community is central to Tanzanian culture; and we know that to create meaningful change for girls, we need to design content that engages boys too. Tujibebe inspires, supports and guides young people to make positive choices about their futures, together.
We wrote and produced an episodic drama series following the daily lives of 3 teenage girls as they navigate secondary school, netball and the trials and tribulations of adolescence. The characters were set model behaviour change journeys and through which we will deliver behaviour change messaging.
Two season of this audio drama were produced that explore the themes of friendship, curiosities and concerns that youth go through during adolescence and SRH (Sexual and Reproductive Health).
A series featuring fresh, fun and relatable content about the ins and outs of having a safe, healthy sex life.
Much of the content from the Sister Pack is repackaged through short, punchy, TikTok style tutorial and testimonials by former TAA youth leaders and other young girls.
